This series does have a fair amount of voice-over editorializing and graphics effects to enhance the data, but the core premise of the show is "let's obsessively analyze some statistics. Sports has a long track record of meticulous numberkeeping to use. Sounds fun."
I don't even care for sports, but the data analysis is so interesting that it drew me in.
TIL that at Jon Bon Jovi's restaurant, JBJ Soul Kitchen, you can pay for your meal with either a donation or one hour of volunteer work in the kitchen. In 2014, JBJ served 11,500 meals, and half of them were paid for with a donation, and the other half were paid for with volunteer work.
