15 week old Brazilian/Jack Russell Terrier rescue, first vacc only. Have had him for one week in our small first-floor apt with open patio area in a dog-friendly (read: largely populated by dogs) complex.
Shelter last week / First vet visit for second opinion / New vet today for kennel cough: when asked about potty training outdoors they all say avoid until last vacc. Everything I've read here mentions avoid wee-wee pads and go outside even at 8 weeks.
I cannot wait to take my pup outside to let all his energy out & properly potty train so I can get these wee-wee pads out of my apt (still working on hitting the actual pad but ..).
Is it just old-school mentality going through my local's heads or should I still avoid my patio area for another month?
